NFL's Big Ben of the Pittsburgh Steelers with fifth metatarsal fracture

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisbergr has a broken fifth metatarsal according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.  This has led to limited practice sessions and a boot to protect his injured right foot.  Different types of fifth metatarsal fractures exist and one type called a Jones Fracture may take longer to heal.  Treatment primarily includes casting much of the time.  However, surgery is necessary in some cases.  Both casting and surgery may also involve bone stimulators in rare cases.
