Have a problem with your eyes or vision? Need a new pair of glasses or a new type of contacts? Time for a routine eye exam?
Head to Toe Healthcare isn’t just a name—it shows our commitment to full body health and wellbeing! In addition to foot care we also provide a wide range of eye care services and products through the Tucson Eye Institute, under the watchful eye of our lead optometrist, Dr. Zuraida Zainalabidin—or “Dr. Zie” for short!
Below, you’ll find a brief overview of some of the most common vision care services we offer. For more in-depth information, please visit our Tucson Eye Institute sister site!
Routine and Comprehensive Eye Exams
Regular, comprehensive eye exams are an important part of protecting and maintaining your overall health, whether you need corrective eyewear or not.
In addition to helping you find the right prescription for any glasses or contacts, routine eye exams can identify the early warning signs of emerging health problems—not only eye diseases, but also whole-body conditions like diabetes and high blood pressure.
In addition to the standard tests, our eye exams may include more specialized procedures when conditions warrant them, such as optical coherence tomography (OCT) scanning, DNA testing, and retinal photography.
Glasses and Contacts
More than half of Americans wear some sort of corrective lenses, at least some of the time. We can match you with a pair of glasses or set of contacts that suits your lifestyle, shows of your personality, and corrects your vision to optimal sharpness!
In office, we carry a wide selection of the latest styles and fashionable frames from today’s top designers, whether you’re looking for something trendy or a little more classic. In other words, you’ll always be able to find a great, good looking pair of glasses!
If contacts are more your style, we are happy to order whatever you need—rigid or soft, daily disposables, extended wear, multifocal, gas permeable, or even contacts you can sleep in! We order weekly, so you can come in to the office and pick them up—or we’ll happily ship them straight to your door.
Acute Eye Conditions
Irritations and injuries to the eye can emerge quickly and unexpectedly. While some might go away in time on their own, others can cause significant and permanent damage to your vision if not treated right away. Trust us: you don’t want to gamble.
Dr. Zie provides effective emergency care for acute conditions such as pink eye (conjunctivitis), dry eyes, corneal ulcers, and foreign objects that get trapped along the eyeball. If you are experiencing any sudden and uncomfortable symptoms—blurry vision, dry or watery eyes, crusty eyes, itchiness, swelling, etc.—please make an appointment as soon as possible.
Chronic or progressive eye disease may emerge and develop in response to systemic medical conditions, injuries, or simply as a natural consequence of the aging process. These conditions can slowly (and permanently) damage your eyes and reduce the quality of your vision.
Though they can’t always be prevented, most eye diseases can be managed successfully. Treatment can slow (or sometimes even stop or reverse) the progression of damage and help you maintain healthy eyes and clear vision as long as possible.
Common eye diseases we treat at our office include cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration.
